Our Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Madeira brought together participants from Portugal - Escola da APEL and Art Center Caravel, Spain - Centro de formación y desarrollo PLIS , Poland - Fraternitas NGO for an unforgettable journey of creativity, learning, and international friendship!
From team-building activities on day one to exploring Madeira’s artistic treasures, every moment was packed with collaboration and cultural exchange.
Our first day on the Youth Exchange in Madeira was all about getting to know each other and understanding the purpose of our exchange. With participants from Portugal, Spain, Poland we formed a truly international group!
Through various activities, we practiced teamwork, collaboration, and even a bit of competition. We explored what Youth Exchange really means and reflected on what each of us can bring to this experience. We also shared our fears and expectations, setting the stage for an exciting journey ahead.
After a delicious lunch, feeling more connected, we set out to explore the island itself. We visited fascinating places that most tourists would probably miss – beautifully painted doors, statues of Madeira’s most important figures, and stunning murals that tell the island’s story.
A huge thank you to the Portuguese team – we couldn’t have done it without you! And now, let's see what the next day has in store for us!

Our second day started with some fun and engaging energizers.
Throughout the day, we deepened our connections during interactive workshops on social media basics in artistic brand creation, working in mixed international teams to share ideas and strengthen our teamwork skills.
We collaborated in our national teams to create posters about our countries, which we then presented, exchanging experiences and insights with one another.
We finished the day with a Cultural Night - each team brought traditional food from their home country, and we all gathered to eat and chat sharing our unique traditions.
This experience has already made us stronger as a team, and we can't wait for the new challenges that await us tomorrow!

On February 13th, our youth exchange in Madeira was filled with creativity, discussion, and adventure.
We started the day at the Art Center Caravel, where we dived into a debate about which form of art is superior: digital or traditional.
Each team had to create a video proving their argument, which not only sparked passionate discussions but also led us to some breathtaking sightseeing spots as we searched for the best shots to support our case.
Afterward, we gathered to try out some new board game, which made for a fun and competitive morning.
For lunch, we enjoyed a relaxing picnic in the park, soaking in the beautiful surroundings and the warm atmosphere.
In the evening, we had some free time, and a group of us decided to explore the mountains. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and the adventure was the perfect way to end such an inspiring and dynamic day. Madeira continues to surprise us with its beauty, and every moment here feels like a new discovery.

Next day, we started with energizing dance activities to boost our energy and teamwork, followed by a fun session of Just Dance.
We then brainstormed ideas for our Mani projects, creating titles and outlining initial plans.
In the afternoon, we visited a local newspaper and radio station in Madera, gaining insight into media work. Thank you JM for the opportunity!
After enjoying lunch together, we wrapped up the day by creatively developing our projects, turning our ideas into action.

We started our day with a delicious breakfast featuring local specialties like yummy bananas and avocado. Prepared and ready, we kicked off with an energizer game before diving into presentations of our projects.
Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to explore three amazing artistic startups: one showcasing unique artistic spots in Madeira, another highlighting the diverse flora of Madeira, and a third with a collection of energizers for future Erasmus projects.
Every team did an outstanding job with their presentations, sharing innovative ideas and sparking insightful discussions. In the very end of the day we made a summary and evaluation of the whole work we did during the week.
It's been a day filled with learning, collaboration, and exchanging knowledge, thank you for creating this amazing project.
